Regular taxis can be found at taxi stands and on the streets. When a taxi is available for hire, the red LED sign in the front windshield reading “빈차” (‘empty vehicle’) will be lit, and the rooftop cap will be illuminated. The base rate is 2,200 won for the first 2 km, and the fare increases according to the distance traveled. The rates are higher late at night.
Deluxe taxis are black and have a yellow cap on the roof. Car phone service is provided free of charge, credit cards are accepted, and receipts can be issued. This kind of taxi can commonly be seen at airports, hotels, and tourist attractions. The base rate is 4,500 won for the first 3 km and the fare increases according to the distance traveled.
For no extra charge, passengers may call a taxi service (regular or deluxe) for pick-up at a location designated by the passenger.
Deungdae Call (Taxi company)
Fare can be paid by credit card, and English, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian interpretation service is available.

Jumbo taxis are black and have a yellow cap on the roof. This large-sized passenger vehicle accommodates between five to ten passengers, and is convenient for groups or for carrying large amounts of baggage. Fares for jumbo taxis are the same as those for deluxe taxis.
